Quality Assurance

The ordinary management and Quality Assurance actions of the course are carried out by the QA Management Group, which also assumes the task of the Review Group and, therefore, draws up the annual monitoring form and the cyclical review report.

The group is entrusted with the tasks of supervision, promotion of the quality policy at the level of the CoS, identification of the necessary corrective actions and verification of their implementation. The group carries out the periodic monitoring of the results of the teaching assessment questionnaires; it discusses any critical issues reported, plans possible corrective actions and monitors their implementation. The group also assesses student performance indicators (Credits acquired, graduation times, drop-out rates, cohort analysis) and graduate employment outcomes, as well as the overall attractiveness of the degree programme. The group also coordinates the compilation of the SUA-CdS form.

The course supervisor is responsible for supervising the planning, implementation and verification (annual monitoring and cyclical review) of the entire course; he/she is the guarantor of Quality Assurance for the course at the peripheral level.

The QA Management Group of the study course, whose members are appointed by the Departmental Council, with the task also of the Review Group, is composed of:

- the head of the study course: Prof. Simone Antonio Gerzeli
- five teachers of the study course: Proff. Arianna Arisi Rota, Marco Barducci, Marco Gardini, Elisa Ghia e Pamela Pansardi

- one representative of the technical-administrative staff: Dott.ssa Daniela Scovenna
- one representative of the course students: Massimiliano Farrell

The QA Management Group is convened periodically, generally at the beginning and end of the semester, for the ordinary management of the study course, for the evaluation of the course itself, and for the preparation of the annual monitoring form and the SUA form.
The monitoring of the teaching evaluation questionnaires is carried out at the end of each academic year in order to have statistically reliable data and to be able to derive useful indications for the organisation of the new academic year.In addition, a meeting with students is planned in order to illustrate the results of the evaluation of  teaching activities and the actions taken to improve the quality of the degree course.
It is the responsibility of the Head of Studies together with the management group both to analyse the aggregate data of the Course of Studies questionnaires and the specific data of individual courses and to take action to solicit appropriate responses from the lecturers concerned to any critical issues identified, and to monitor annually the effectiveness of the corrective actions proposed in the SMA and in the Cyclical Review Report. The careful consultation of all available statistical data also supports the verification of the effectiveness of the corrective actions.

Annually, within the deadlines set by ANVUR, the Review Group prepares the Annual Monitoring Form. This is a model predefined by ANVUR within which indicators on students' careers and other quantitative monitoring indicators are presented, which the Boards must comment on in a concise manner.

The indicators are proposed to the LODs with the main purpose of inducing a reflection on the degree of achievement of their specific objectives; therefore, each LOD must recognise, among those proposed, the most significant indicators in relation to its own character and specific objectives.

The individual degree course of the Athenaeum may autonomously compare itself and be compared with courses of the same Degree Class and type (Three-year degree, Two-year degree, Single-cycle degree, etc.) and of the same geographical area, in order to detect both its potential and cases of strong deviation from the national or macro-regional averages relating to the homogeneous class, and to achieve, through other elements of analysis, the recognition of critical cases

Lastly, in addition to the annual monitoring form, a mid-term (3-5 years) review is envisaged, concerning the actuality of the demand for training, the suitability of the training pathway to the characteristics and skills required for the professional profile to be trained, and the effectiveness of the management system of the CoS. The Cyclical Re-examination Report must therefore be aimed mainly at highlighting the continuing validity of the training objectives and the management system used by the degree programme to achieve them.
